This policy explains what information DeirNet collects, why, and who it is shared with. It covers both our website and our mobile applications, including the DeirTV iPhone and iPad app.
About the app
DeirTV is an IPTV player. It contains no channels, no films and no other content of its own. You enter the address of your operator's portal and the MAC address that operator issued to you, and the app plays whatever that portal provides. You can change to a different portal at any time from Settings.
This matters for your privacy: when you use the app, most of your activity is handled by your operator's portal, not by DeirNet. If the portal you connect to is not operated by DeirNet, that operator's own privacy practices apply to it, and you should ask them about it.
What the app collects
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifier (MAC address) | To identify your subscription. Your operator's portal authenticates you by this identifier. | Your operator's portal. Also attached to crash reports so support can match a report to a device. |
| Crash diagnostics | To find and fix crashes. | Google Firebase Crashlytics. |
| Approximate location | Only to show daily prayer times for your area. | Derived from your IP address by ip-api.com, then sent as coordinates to api.aladhan.com to calculate the times. Not stored, and never sent to DeirNet. |
| Viewing activity | So you can resume what you were watching and keep favourites across your devices. | Your operator's portal, which records playback position and favourites against your subscription. |
The device identifier is created once on your device and kept in the iOS Keychain, or entered by you at sign-in. It is not an advertising identifier and cannot be used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What stays on your device
The app keeps a local cache so it works quickly and offline: the channel and title lists from your portal, your watch history and favourites, your chosen language, your sort preferences, and your last-played surah and reciter. This stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
What we do not do
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app shows no advertising.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- The app does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise GPS location.
- The app does not create user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or payment details. Subscriptions are arranged directly with your operator.
Services we use
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|

| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |

How long we keep data
Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Data held by your operator's portal — your subscription, viewing history and favourites — is kept for as long as your subscription is active, under that operator's own retention policy. Local data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children. It includes a parental control feature: titles your operator marks as restricted require a PIN taken from your subscriber profile.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. For data held by your operator's portal, contact that operator. To delete the local data the app keeps, delete the app from your device.
Website
Our website collects standard server log information — IP address, browser type, time of visit and referring page — and any details you choose to submit through a contact or enquiry form. The website uses third-party advertising, which may set its own cookies.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
